| Abstract: | [中文摘要]：本文在分析前人研究成果的基础上，首先对“边缘地区”、“区域过程”等概念进行了界定；进而以典型边缘地区宕昌县作为案例，简要分析其区域过程，并总结出类似边缘地区区域过程中自然与人文因素作用的一般规律，为进一步探索边缘地区发展途径提供理论基础与前提，这也在理论和实践层面上为多学科交叉研究提供例证。
[英文摘要]： In this paper, ＂the periphery area＂ and ＂regional process＂ are defined on the basis of existing documents. The periphery area in this paper refers to those regions that suffer from far-away location, inconvenient transportation, low social and economic development speed, and poor development capacities compared with core areas. The periphery area is comprehensively affected by natural, economic and literary factors and it faces a lot of difficulties in social and economic development. The regional process refers to the temporal and spatial evolution process of regional ecology and society. Dangchang County, which lies in the Southwest of Gansu Province, is taken as an example. Based on the analysis of Dangchang＇s regional process, the principles of the regional process of the periphery area is summarized in this paper. The regional process of Dangchang demonstrates the following three characteristics： 1）the decrease ofbio-diversity resulted from the periphery effects; 2）the formation of unique ethnic culture as the combination and exchange of multiple cultures; 3）and the substitution of former prosperous ethnic trade center by present periphery area. Based on the above analysis of Dangchang＇s regional process, the natural and human coupling mechanism of periphery area can be summarized as follows： 1）The complicated geological process intensifies the mutual effects between the natural and the human factors; 2） The periphery area＇s regional process demonstrates the mutual effects of natural and human factors in different stages; 3）The periphery area＇s regional process demonstrates the characteristics of the stride-forward. This research intends to offer theoretical basis for further research of periphery areas. It is of great help to propose countermeasures for the sustainable development of the periphery area. It also provides a good exemplification for the integrated multi-disciplinary research. |
