| Abstract: | The principal missions of the IGN are to ensure the production, maintenance and distribution of reference geographical information in France.
In addition to these activities, it trains engineers and technicians, carries out research in the geographical field and keeps the institutional documentation up to date.
Research at the IGN is organised around 4 laboratories:
·MATIS - Methods of Analysis and Processing of Images for Stereo-restitution;
·LOEMI - Laboratory for Optics, Electronics and Micro Computing;
·COGIT - Object Design and Generalisation of Topographical Information;
·LAREG - Geodesy Research Laboratory. |
